| Who is God? |

Most people, at least once, have asked himself/herself “Who is God?” Someone said, ‘this question is better than asking “What is God”. One thing to be noted is that this question assumes God exists! The question is ‘Who is He whom we/they call God?’
Somebody puts it in the following way, when someone asks; ‘Who is God?’ the real question is what does he/she really want to know? If someone asked you “Who are you?” what would you say? What constitutes ‘Who you are’? When you and I ask someone about somebody else, they always end up describing the character attributes of that person. “He’s tall, dark, handsome, kind, gentle, strong, and so on.” But who are we really and if we don’t know the answer to this question, how would we know the answer to “Who is God”? None of us would answer, ‘I don’t know’ to the question if someone asks you, ‘who are you’ or to describe or to say something about your father/mother. To describe this, as we have seen above, we explain what constitutes that person to be.
But how do we describe God then? Before we answer this question, few things need to be clarified. We cannot define or describe God in human language as He is, because human language is limited and human sense to understand God also is finite. Still then, we can make some meaningful statements about Him that derive from His revelation.
1. God cannot have a material body because having a material body limits Him in time and space. Therefore, He must be a Sprit Being with quality of All-Presence.
2. Everything that began to exist has a cause. By definition God cannot be caused to exist for the reason that cause of God leads to infinite regress (endless point). Therefore He must be eternal.
3. God, by definition cannot be lesser power than any power in the whole universe; if He being a lesser power that will never qualifies Him to be God. Therefore God must be All-Powerful, Creator, Creative and Ruler of all that is.
4. All human beings follow a moral standard. There must be a moral giver behind every law. And the law giver whom we call God must be the source of absolute moral standard. Therefore God the Moral Lawgiver must be Loving, Gracious, and Just, Truthful, Honest, Unchanging and One Who is Perfect in Goodness. 5. And as mentioned above God by definition must know everything. Therefore God is All-Knowing God with Wisdom. 6. And all knowing God has not and will not have anything new (information or knowledge) at all in his mind. He must know very thing from eternity to eternity. Therefore, he does not need to change. Therefore He is an Unchanging God
